A Johnston City man accused of kidnapping his stepdaughters has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say 37-year old Damon Jones took the two girls, ages 7 and 9, without permission, triggering an Amber Alert.

Deputies later found Jones at a convenience store near Lake of Egypt with the children in the backseat of his vehicle unharmed.

Jones will be back in court some time in early February.
