A Murphysboro man is facing DUI charges after a traffic crash Saturday night.

The crash happened around 7:30 pm at the intersection of IL Rt. 127 and Old Highway 13 in Murphysboro.

34 year old Efrain Lemus-Huezo of Murphysboro was traveling westbound on Old Highway 13 when he drifted into the eastbound lane and struck a pickup truck being driven by 34 year old Kelly Wepseic. Both vehicles sustained severe damage, however both individuals declined to go to the hospital.

Lemus-Huezo was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

He was taken to the Jackson County Jail where he later posted bond and was released.
