Carterville, Ill. – New swings at Cannon Park in Carterville have been vandalized.

Mayor Brad Robinson says the handicapped-accessible swings were covered in straw and sealant had been dug out of support posts on the swing sometime late Friday, just hours after the city held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new attraction.

Anyone with information should contact Carterville Police. A $500 rewards is being offered.
