A Brookport man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges. 21 year old Andrew Phillips was sentenced on Tuesday to 20 years behind bars.
Phillips had been accused of taking pictures of a child younger than 13 in a lewd setting.
Phillips’ charge of possessing child pornography is a class X felony which carries a penalty of anywhere between 9 and 30 years in prison, with no chance at probation.
Phillips had received probation for a class 2 felony offense of possession of child pornography in 2013.
The case was investigated by the Massac County Sheriff’s office, and the Illinois State Police Computer Evidence Recovery Unit.
